Professional Background
Lane Stone is an Associate at Burrill Poole, where his practice focuses on complex corporate transactions, civil litigation, and corporate governance. Lane advises private equity firms, healthcare organizations, and corporate clients through high-stakes mergers, acquisitions, and day-to-day operational challenges. With formal training as a mechanical engineer, Lane brings a systems-driven, highly analytical approach to contract drafting, corporate structuring, and risk mitigation.
In his civil litigation practice, Lane brings extensive experience in managing complex case dockets, driving procedural strategy, and advocating for clients through every stage of dispute resolution. His background in litigation equips him to anticipate liabilities and effectively manage risk long before it reaches a courtroom, allowing him to construct highly resilient corporate frameworks for the firm’s transactional clients.
Prior to joining Burrill Poole, Lane developed an extensive background in federal regulatory compliance and technical asset management as the Lead Intellectual Property and Data Rights Specialist for the U.S. Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program. In this capacity, he navigated dense federal acquisition regulations and managed compliance for the Intellectual Property Pathfinder Program within a important Program Management Office. Lane earned his Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law, where he completed a concentration in Intellectual Property, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
This unique synthesis of a mechanical engineering background, federal defense experience, and frontline civil litigation allows Lane to offer unparalleled strategic foresight when advising businesses on procedural and transactional matters.
